Thousands of bulldogs a year are thrown out on the streets, abused and even killed due to owner ignorance. Please be well informed about this breed...know your breed!! Whether with a bulldog or any pet, know what you're getting in to. Bulldogs have special needs and health demands and not everyone can handle the responsibility of a Bulldog. Some bulldogs may seem like a breeze while others require more attention. Everyday care is a must that you eventually should adapt to. For instance, when bathing them, use a soft rag to wipe the creases between wrinkles, clean their ears also, and also wipe their eyes daily to keep healthy eyes. Never allow a bulldog to be outside in extreme heat; not even for 20 minutes! Be aware of any changes in your bulldog's behavior and seek medical attention as soon as possible if needed. Go check out some of the bulldog rescue sites and read some of their stories and see why this is so important to us. To think someone could treat ANY animal in such a way, is very disturbing. Please never place your pet or Bulldog in a pound, animal control or any other shelter that does not screen applicants. This bulldog was at one time everything you wanted, don’t punish the bully that can’t help that you’ve changed your mind because the time wasn’t taking to do some research on the breed…the least you can do is find them a loving home they deserve.
